How to build a desktop computer part 3

to know exactly what parts I used and for what prices, read

this forum in the tech

center.

Parts Required for this tutorial:
All parts required
Processor
Motherboard
RAM
heatsink
case

First, the motherboard. You gotta mount that thing into the

case. You should see nine holes in the motherboard and in the back of the

case. They should be in the corners, halfway between the corners, and one

in the middle of the motherboard. There should also be a small bag of

screws that came with the case. Mine came with eight so I left the middle

hole empty.

Step 2: Once you have it mounted in, next it's time for the proccesor. Be very careful with this!
You don't want anything to harm this little guy. He's the brains of the computer.

He should go into the motherboard right in this slot:

open the slot by pulling the small silver rod toward you, place the processor in the correct way and close the silver rod.

DO NOT FORCE THE PROCESSOR IN! IT SHOULD SLIDE IN NATURALLY!

then put the heat sink on top of the processor. It should latch on pretty easily if it is an AMD heatsink. Not sure about the Intel ones.

The heatsink should have come with your processor and if it didn't, get one somewhere else before continueing. It is also very important your processor doesn't overheat.

Every Heatsink and motherboard is different, so refer to yous motherboard instruction booklet for this one. Once placed on, the heatsink should look like this:

Plug the heatsink into the motherboard in the appropriate power slot. Every motherboard is different for this one too, but mine happens to be right there.

Step 4: RAM!
You should see 4 (again every motherboard is different) slots real close to each other off to one side. That is where the RAM plugs in. I recommend at least 2 GBs of RAM for the average computer. Im going to plug in 4 GBs.

Take the slots of RAM you have. find the side that has a gold tip and plug that into slot. It takes a tiny bit of force to make it go in, but once it is in, snap the clamps down, so it doesn't go anywhere.

AGAIN, DO NOT FORCE IT TOO MUCH!!!
Make sure the RAM cards are facing the right way before trying to insert them. They should look like this:

If you have all of this done, you are ready to plug it all in!!

Part 4 will be up in a few minutes

How to put together a desktop computer Part 2

How to put together a desktop computer
Part 2

Hey guys I'm back with more parts! As of now, I have every part except the Processor. So, I'm going to have to leave a bunch of things out.

Parts you will need for this tutorial:
Disc drive
Case
Case fan
Screwdriver

Step One: installing the disc drive!

First, take out the front panel of the slot you want the disc drive to go into. There should be two screws on either side of the case, holding the panel in. It took me forever to unscrew them because Antec had them screwed in so tightly I was wearing the screw down every time I tried to unscrew it.

Once you have them unscrewed, take out the panel by pulling on it. It should pop out the front of the case.

Take your disc drive, and slide it into the front slot. We'll worry about the wiring later.

It should look like this from the outside:

There should be a small bag of screws that came with your case. And there should also be a place to screw in your disc drive to keep it from moving. Find the holes in the side that match up with each other, and put a screw there to keep the disc drive from moving anywhere and hurting your computer.

Step Two: Installing the Case Fan
You can skip this if you want. Some people prefer more fans for their hardcore computers, so they don't overheat as easily when (in some cases) overclocking. I bought an extra fan for a side vent that was in my case.

Remove the panel that holds your fan vent hole, and clamp. Place the fan directly on top of the clamp already on the panel. Make sure it is even and slowly push down, moving one clamp outward to let in one side, then the other. simple. :good:

My next part will be much bigger, it will include all of the wiring and everything with the motherboard. Pics had everything you don't need erased because you really don't need to see my dirty room.

How to put together a desktop computer

A Beginner's Guide to building a Desktop Computer
Part 1

^My computer^ (so far. I haven't gotten all of the parts yet.)

To begin this tutorial, you will need the following things:
1. Desktop Case
2. Power Supply
3. Screw Driver

I use the Antec 902 case with the Antec 550w TruePower power supply.

All cases and power supplies will be different.

So just try to stay with me.

If this is your first time to build a computer, open a computer, see computer parts, or use a computer, you may think, "Hey! I don't know how to open my case without ripping screw threads and breaking stuff!"

that's okay. I will show you how.

There are two screws on the back of the case. (Or at least on my two computers.)

See?

Unscrew them with your trusty screwdriver and pull the side panel straight back, then out. Like so:

If you did it right, then there should be no screeching of metal and should just pop right out.

That was the easy part. Now time to put the power supply in.
Once in the case, you power supply should look like this:

Make sure the fan on the power supply is not facing a panel! It could be disastrous. Now, My power supply goes on the bottom (because that is just the way my case is built), but it shouldn't be different if your power supply is on top. Just turn the case on it's side and slide it in.

Be sure to screw the power supply into the back of your case!

That way, the power supply won't go anywhere!

This ends part 1. I will post part 2 once I receive my motherboard and other parts.

C# Loading reCaptcha into a imagebox

I went through about a week of making bots, and when you make a bot you have to be able to download the image from the CAPTCHA (or in this case ReCaptcha) so you can display it to the user to be entered, or send it to decaptcher for them to crack it.

If you don't understand what that meant, this tutorial isn't for you. I'm just going to walk through how to pull the image from the ReCaptcha field. This tutorial assumes you have a hidden web browser in which you are using to navigate some page. This is assuming the basic GetElementByID doesn't work, since its generated dynamically per pageload.

This is our code.

Were using a foreach loop to go through every image in the Webbrowser

foreach (HtmlElement images in webBrowser1.Document.Images)

Now were doing a quick if statement to see if that image path has the URL of the recaptcha in it.

if (images.GetAttribute("src").Contains("http://api.recaptcha.net/image?c="))

GetAttribute allows you to lots of things with a specific HTMLElement (in this case images)

If it matches a simple line will dump that URL to an imagebox.

string url = images.GetAttribute("src");

Then dump the variable url to your imagebox. Ignore the code tCount++; in there, it was part of that application.

So it starts as a picture box.

Assuming you grabbed the URL of the image correctly, it should show the image like so.

How to MASS change ownership of files after reformat

How to MASS change ownership of files after reformat
Windows XP Home/Media ONLY
Written by iBotPeaches of iBotModz.net

First we need to make these are true

1) Your computer currently can load up to your desktop fine

2) Your an administrator account OR in SAFE-MODE

The ideal situation is that you have a corrupted hard drive that a virus wrecked or something. We will call that the "corrupt" drive. Then you have another hard drive that you have ALREADY re-installed Windows on and are now sitting on that empty desktop of that new computer. I would activate it, and get the 100MB of updates you need from a re-install (This solves tons of problems later on). Even though your "corrupt" hard drive can't boot by itself you can use the "fresh" hard drive to boot into windows since the file structure is still intact on the "corrupt" hard drive. That will allow you to just browse the files of that "corrupted" hard drive through My Computer. However, you will get a nasty error of "Access Denied." That is because your username and windows certifications no longer match what they were before. So now we start to fix that.

You need these programs

Account Checker (Checks if currently logged in account is admin, Made by Dark Slipstream)

Number of downloads: 0

Security Add-on (Adds the "Security" tab on Properties of a file)

Sec_Adder.rar (335.63K)
Number of downloads: 0

Lets start

I'm tired of making tutorials for images for every step of the way, I will explain it thoroughly and you should be able to follow it.

1) UnRAR that "Security Add-on" and install it. That will add a new security tab to make things 10000x easier for us.

2) Run the "Account Checker" and confirm you are on an Admin Account

3) Find the drive of the "corrupted" hard drive (EX: F:) and right click on it

4) Click Properties

5) You should see if the "Security Add-On" installed correctly a new tab called "Security (XPFSE)"

6) Click that tab and load it up

7) If you user name is ON that list, simply CLICK it to get it highlighted if not these next steps are for you

Only follow these steps if your user name is NOT on the list.
START HERE
7a) Click the "Add" button and you will get another pop up.

7b) From that pop up click "Advance"

7c) Then on that pop up click "Find now"

7d) It will load all user names. Find yours and click it (Ex: iBotPeaches:PEACHES)

7e) Once it is highlighted, click "OK" near bottom

7f) You should be returned to main step 7 now. If not click "okay" again
END HERE

8 ) Now select your user name on that list so it is highlighted. Then click "Advance" bottom right

9) Then click the "Owner" tab on top.

10) You will be greeted with the OLD admin account of the "corrupted" drive and the NEW admin account of the "fresh" drive. Simply highlight the NEW admin account (Usually 2nd on list)

11) With the newer account highlighted tick the check box that says "Replace owner on sub-containers and objects"

12) Then click "Apply" or "Okay" or "Done" (Depends on version and type of OS)

13) You should now have a progress bar in front of you mass giving you ownership of all files in that directory or drive you specified.
