    Swine Flu

An outbreak that has killed more than 100 people in Mexico was caused by a new strain of swine influenza. It is a virus that mutated from pigs and then at some point was transmitted to humans.

should we let this flu stop us and alot of people from enjoying life day to day? make people scared to go outside for fear of contracting this virus? or should we stay inside and wait for this thing to be solved?

please feel free to post any other ideas about the swine flu. this is a pretty narrow focus on something that is huge so dont be afraid to come out with your own ideas and questions about it.

No, you come up with a new topic. Maybe weekly rather then daily?

If all debates get closed within a time, than it leaves debates pointless..

When there is a debate on TV, isn't their a time limit? Yes they can't stay for 56 hours talking. Ideas need to be fresh, if you want to voice your opinion stay on the debate page.

By the way, my opinion on swine flu is that it is a normal sickness. The regular flu is bad, this is just another form of that. Too over hyped.

I think that the sick should be studied and (hopefully) cured, and make the media stay the Fack away.

Its a flu with an extra symptom. If we started monitoring some random sickness and tracking it. It would have the same effect because we would notice where people got it. This is killing people with weak immune systems. Its not a threat to our species.

30,000 americans die annually from standard influenza.
1 american died from swine flu.

Albeit, swine flu is most aggressive towards people between the ages of 20-40, it can ONLY kill children under the age of 2 years, and adults over 65. pwnd.

It's not a big deal. There have been cases in the past. However this is a new version of it and more deadly we have nothing to fear. It could be contained if everyone was healthy enough to wash their hands after they touch something with germs and so on. Like Peaches said it will only effect people who have a weak immune system. When I say effect I mean it will effect people more with bad immune systems. Like think back to that baby that died for it. That's perfect proof because babies do not have good immune systems, their not fully developed, as well as the elderly. Anyone care to prove me wrong?
